Criteria for grant applications
All requests must have the full support of the School District Administration. The Foundation has established the following criteria for assessing all grant applications.

  • Provide immediate assistance with unmet educational needs of our students.
  • Include innovative ideas that will enrich the quality of our students' education experience.
  • Improve our teachers' knowledge and ability to educate.
  • Develop community involvement and interest in our education system.
  • Maximize benefits from the requested funds.
  • Provide long-term benefit to the community and schools.
  • Better prepare our students for future education and/or careers.

Multiple criteria must be satisfied in order for a project to be awarded a Foundation grant.

Several people who served on the Foundation's Grant Review Committee in the most recent funding cycle are available to assist grant applicants submitting a grant for the first time, or re-submitting a grant that did not receive funding.  These folks can assist you with any questions you might have about the High Funding Priorities and the grant application instructions.  Please contact Anne-Marie Slater at annemarie@wsvef.org to get contact information for these volunteers.
